Amanda Becker

Jazz | Classical vocalist

Amanda Becker is a versatile vocalist based in Berlin. She studied classical singing in Frankfurt, Freiburg and Berlin. She is very passionate about classical Lied and studied with Pauliina Tukiainen, Eric Schneider und Axel Bauni. Amanda is regularly performing and curating Lied concerts. Amanda has Liedduos with pianists Justine Eckhaut, Hansol Cho and Anni Laukkanen. 

Amanda has been involved in premieres by Steffen Schleiermacher and and Christina Fuchs and is generally enthused by singing contemporary Lied. 

In 2022 she sang Olivier Messiaen’s cycle “Poemes pour Mi” with Hansol Cho on piano at Laeiszhalle Hamburg. In early 2023 she was singing in the premiere of “Das Gleiche Wort” a composition of various contemporary composers -  in Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. 

During her career as a Soprano Amanda has always been a Jazz singer as well. She was a regular student in the workshops of the great Barry Harris until 2021. Amanda was a finalist at “Riga Jazz Stage” in 2022. 

She is is singing with different bands in Berlin. 2019 Amanda and the guitarist Gur Liraz startet their duo “Gur and Amanda” and are about to release their first album “Ask Me Now”. 

Together with Liedpianists and Jazz musicians she created the project “let me LIED you” which combines both, Lied and Jazz and also works with political and black feminist poetry.
